She Who Dares is a fierce circus cabaret dissecting and dismantling ideas of gender, sexuality and feminism. This sell out cabaret was performed in September this year in Bristol. The performance includes drag acts, circus acts such as hand balancing and aerial rope, as well as dance from artists from all backgrounds and identities including LGBTQ and BAME artists. The performance was narrated by stand-up comedian Roisin Crowley Linton who recently performed her one woman show at Edinburgh Fringe Festival. This show reacts to recent political and social movements such as the ‘Me Too’ movement, the Kavanagh incident, the Up-Skirting bill and the recent ‘If Men Had a Curfew’ thread. Currently, circus doesn’t always represent all communities, the purpose of this work is to create an inclusive platform and a performance that is empowering to minority audiences.
