We are a Bristol based company, with the aspiration to involve everyone in the bonkers world of circus. Founded by Amy Nicholls and Nicole Pretlove, Lavrak is a contemporary circus company, incorporating dance, theatre, live music and circus in our sell out shows.

Nix Pretlove
Co-Director Nix is a kickass Producer and Performer. She works as a producer for The Revel Puck Circus. She is the producer and co-driector of The Self Love Club; Lavrak's radical self love cabaret, and has been running empowering shows dissect stereotypes of gender, sexuality and feminism for over 5 years. She manages festival bookings, having run the circus tent at Maui Waui, and curated cabarets for Nozstock. She is the owner and designer of our Beam Blaster spaceship. Nicole has worked, trained and performed in the UK, Greece, Czech Republic, Spain and New York, having produced for Bassline Circus, No Fit State and The Revel Puck Circus (to name a few). |

Amy Nicholls
Co-Director Amy is a Producer, Director and Performer, with a commitment to access and outreach; having recently produced an outreach project with the community in St Pauls, training a young producer, outreach workers and offering a platform for the community to perform! She creates work with and for communities, currently working as a Youth, Outreach and Creative Development Coordinator at London Circus Space, Flying Fantastic, where she runs an artist residency programme. She produced, directed and performed in our ACE funded, 5 star reviewed, D/deaf accessible, children's show Reach. Companies she has worked with include Circus City, The Baltic Nordic Circus Network, Spin Out Festival, Jacksons Lane, Circomedia. |
Internships/ Placements
We understand that aerial training can be extremely costly and that production/ stage manager skills are hard to acquire. We provide internships and placements; giving you a chance to gain experience working on current productions, opportunities to teach workshops, perform, learn aerial and other circus skills as well as production knowledge.

What our interns thought
‘Working with Lavrak was a great opportunity to learn about the working field in a safe environment, led by two amazing women. Amy made sure that I learnt the skills I wanted to at the same time as giving me other tools I hadn't considered were needed or could be useful. In 1 week I acquired aerial skills, producing skills and backstage management skills. They treated me as one of their own from the start which made the experience a lot more pleasant. 'Working with Lavrak was such a great experience. I learnt so many new skills from them and these skills not only included circus and aerial skills like hoop but also what it’s like behind the scenes of a company and what Amy’s role as a director entails. My favorite part of the experience was getting to train with the company and improve my own aerial skills. Amy always ensured she had time to help me personally with what I wanted to improve on.
